Its been almost 3 years since I fulfilled my dream of visiting Ladakh, life has kept me busy since then. Finally I have sometime to write about my experience (or thats what I though in 2017 ::D) or how I lived my dream.
It all started in 2006, going through all those Getting Leh'd travelogues on XBHP. I knew it would take me sometime but never excepted it will take 8 years to fulfill it. I came close in 2009 when Akhil and I started planning the trip with couple of guys but the plans never took off because of scheduling conflicts. I never got a chance with all the personal commitments and marriage the following year.
Even though I was touring with family, most of the time on my car expect for one bike trip on our first anniversary. Every time I saw Leh pictures and travelogues I had sleepless nights. On one of those sleepless nights, I was discussing how terrible I feel for not riding anymore and not making time to plan the Leh trip and told her I am doing it in 2014 no matter what. Never till now I had thought about taking her along.
Discussed about the plan with few friends, finally Chethan and Paul were in. Chethan and I started discussing the plan. It had to been done in July because of Chetu college vacation. It was May when Chethan told he had to visit Uk and the very next day Paul told he had to visit Paris on official duties,vI was heart broken a bit. Told Chetu we may have to drop the plan has guys have dropped out. Her reply surprised me, she said so "why should we drop the plan, you have planned this for too long" 😁.
With Paul dropping out, decided to take his bike and he was happy at least his bike can go along :D
